Book Q & A
Q. Who are these books for?
A. For readers who love secrets, second chances, and stories where the past always comes back for you, in thrillers and fantasy alike.
Q. What are these books about?
A. The thrillers (Between The Beats, Gambling On A Dream, Diamond Masquerade) suit readers of atmospheric, character-driven suspense: con artists, casino intrigue, decades-old heists, and impossible choices between loyalty and survival.
The fantasy (the Glassbound Realms series, beginning with Twilight City) suits readers who want a layered mystery inside a richly imagined world, with ancient lineages, memory magic, and secrets seeded across books.
Q. Do I need to read them in any particular order?
A. Yes, and no. The thriller books can be read as stand alone novels or as a series starting with Between The Beats. Though if you are only going to read 2 of the 3, I would recommend reading Gambling On A Dream followed by Diamond Masquerade.
The fantasy series should be read in series order. The Glassbound Realms novella is a stand-alone story that gives you the history of the realms themselves.
Q. How dark are these books?
A. Dark in mood, not in gore. These are stories about secrets, buried histories, and people making impossible choices, so expect tension, moral gray areas, and characters who aren’t always sure they’re the good guys.
The thrillers are the grittier of the two. Expect crime, deception, and danger: murder, con artists, heists, and corrupt power players. Content notes: some alcohol and drug use is depicted.
The fantasy leans toward the eerie and the emotional rather than the graphic. The shadows come from memory magic, ancient betrayals, and what people will do to protect or uncover the truth. Content notes: there are scenes that depict characters being restrained against their will, but not to an extreme that it would make the reader uncomfortable.
If you like your suspense atmospheric and your characters complicated, you’re in the right place. If you’d like specifics before you dive in, drop me a line at the contact page and I’m happy to tell you what to expect.
Q. Where can I buy them?
A. All of my books are available in ebook and paperback. You have a few options:
- Directly from me: The shop at me-cooper.com. Here you can get paperbacks, ebooks, and signed editions - all delivered directly to you.
- Online retailers: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Apple Books
- Independent Bookstores: If you don’t see a title on the shelf, ask them to order it
- Your local library: Always a great place to find your next story. If it's not on the shelf, just ask them to order it and notify you when it's in
Q. What are you working on next?
A. I'm currently working on book 2 in the fantasy series, Crystal Lake. In this realm, the lake is the repository for memories and someone is trying to destroy that and use the knowledge for their own nefarious purposes. You can read a sample chapter at the end of Twilight City.
